REFERENCES
 
When it comes to quotes and references in text we'll be using the Harvard system of referencing. To put it simply, we will avoid the foul footnote, but embrace the practical parenthesis. Why? Well, simply because we're in English class and footnotes are more common in science, economy etc. 
 
After using a quote or a reference, the following information – if not already given in the text – should appear within a parenthesis: the author's name, title of the book, year of publication and page number. All additonal information is saved for the reference list
 
Examples:
1. Miranda Smith describes the situation as "very unstable" (2013:45) and...
2. The "very unstable" situation (Smith 2013:45) is...
