ENGLISH

NEWSCAST

Dear students,

Your new assignment is to produce a newscast, but instead of performing in front of TV cameras you'll be providing your classmates with the latest news – live!

3-5 students in each group. Runtime: 10-15 minutes.
  1. Choose a well-known international news network (CNN, BBC, Al Jazeera, Fox News, NBC etc.). You are supposed to imitate the network’s image so study your network carefully.
  2. Decide who does what (anchor, meteorologist, correspondent, reporter etc.) and make sure the workload is evenly divided.
  3. Find news! Stick to events in the English speaking world (national, regional or local) and/or major international events. I would recommend current events (basically, what you are covering should have occured during this year). However, if you really want to, pretending that it is 1989 (or any other year) is also allowed, but check with me first. Also, try to choose news that goes well with your network.
  4. Solve and/or prepare for various problems/issues (props, logos, clothes, make-up) and start to plan how to best design your "studio" (i.e. the teacher's desk and the whiteboard).

Good luck!
